  • Tape recorder - early model reel-to-reel audio tape recorder purchased for use in his radio magazine programs in the early 1950's, and for teaching purposes at Port Lincoln High School and briefly at Wattle Park Teachers College before it was superseded by more modern technology.
  • Typewriter - A Smith Corona electric typewriter used for all his work produced between the late 1960's and the late 1980's. This included about 40 children's books - from Blue Fin to Jodie's Journey - and more than a dozen books for adults, as well as large numbers of lectures, addresses, conference papers, after dinner speeches, introductions and forewords. He estimated that this would have amounted to much more than two million words.
