The Louis Laybourne Smith School of Architecture was established in 1906. Louis brought with him a small collection of books which formed the beginnings of the departmental library, later part of the Gavin Walkley Collection, established in 1976 upon his retirement as Head of the School after twenty-five years. See the works that have inspired many of today's South Australian architects.
