Reliability: Is the author/producer of the information identified?

Some information sources show clearly who is responsible for the work. This may be an individual author, an editor, a corporate author, or a sponsoring agency such as an association or organisation.

This includes websites as well as printed sources. Knowing who created a website is very important in deciding whether the information is reliable or not.

A source that does not show who the author is or who is responsible for the information and ideas is most likely NOT suitable for your academic assignments.
