Is the information accurate? (accuracy/bias)


Sources may present information that is:

  • factual or certain (contains evidence or argument that can be used to check the information)
  • opinion (belief or attitude that is not supported with evidence or argument)
  • propaganda (deliberate effort to spread a particular belief or opinion)

To decide the accuracy of an information source you will need to consider the following questions:

  • how is the information presented?
  • is the information biased?
