Do you need to effectively search the scientific and engineering literature? This workshop will help you to

  • develop the skills to find information for your literature review and research
  • use a range of engineering databases including Compendex, Inspec and IEEEXplore

Database searching for your research: Chemistry

Do you need to effectively search for literature in the chemical and related sciences? This workshop will help you to:

  • develop the skills to find information in the SciFinder and Reaxys databases
  • learn how to create database alerts

Discovering pharmacy and medical sciences databases

Searching for pharmacy and medical sciences information? Using Medline, Embase, International Pharmaceutical Abstracts and Scopus you will be able to develop effective searching strategies, modify and save your search history, and create alerts to keep up to date. SciFinder will also be demonstrated, as well as looking at some of the pharmacy resources that are available, including Medicines Complete, USP-NF Online, and the European pharmacopoeia.

Advanced subject searching in the Ovid health sciences databases offer many features that are not encountered in other databases. Have you wondered about the explode or focus features that relate to subject searching or the option to map to a subject heading? In this workshop you will
