The page is designed to show mentors how you can find the answers to questions that students may ask about the Library.
It is important that if you don’t know or are unsure about the answers to any questions that you direct students to Library staff or the Ask the Library Service
Finding library information
- Library website is the gateway to Library information, resources and services
- Virtual Library tour interactive detailed floor plans of the Library plus you can print a self guided tour
- Welcome new students has key information for commencing students
Using the Library
- Library locations City East, City West, Magill, Mawson Lakes and Whyalla
- Opening hours including public holiday hours. Opening hours are listed at library entrances
- Printing, photocopying and scanning provides information and costs of photocopying, colour printing, scanning, saving and storing files
- Study rooms that you can book for individual or group study
Borrowing from the Library
- Borrowing covers how many items, how long you can borrow, how to renew items, how to place a request for a loan item, how to request an intercampus document, how and where to return your books, borrowing from other institutions and laptop bookings
- Demerit points and library fees Encourage students to return items on time to avoid demerit points and also invoice fees
- High Demand Collection (opens in new window) contains books, DVDs and other material put on short term loan by lecturers (4 hour or 4 day loan) and electronic copies of course readings, articles and book chapters that you can access online
Searching for information
- Catalogue (opens in new window) to search for books, journals, DVDs and other library material
- Databases to search for journal articles and conference papers. Some databases
have the articles in full text while other databases only provide
references, abstracts and summaries of the articles.
To find the full text of the article you can use the Find it button when it is available next to an article. Find it will search UniSA full text databases and electronic journal collections for the full text. If the full text is not found check the journal title in the Library catalogue - Google Scholar web search engine searches for scholarly literature. If the Library has an electronic subscription, you may be able to link to the full text by clicking on an article title. Make sure you evaluate web pages carefully

- Assignment help many courses have online tutorials for specific assignments
