As the first South Australian female Senator for the ALP, Rosemary Anne Crowley served from 1983 to 2002. She was the Minister for Family Services from March 1993 to March 1996 and was also the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Status of Women from March 1993 to December 1993
