We use three different types of mail services to deliver loan items, depending on where you live
Metropolitan Adelaide and near country SA
Delivery
- parcels containing loan items are delivered by Australia Post (receipted delivery) so you will need to sign for them
- If you are not at home a card will be left and you will need to collect the parcel at the Post Office
Return
- a reply paid sticker will be enclosed with your loan items in the parcel
- write date on sticker and attach it to the parcel
- take the parcel to the Post Office - payment is not required as postage is prepaid
Country SA and other States and Territories of Australia
Delivery
- parcels containing loan items are sent via the courier Australian airExpress so you will need to sign for them
- if no-one is at your address a card will be left in your letterbox. Either ring the contact number to arrange delivery or collect the parcel from the designated Post Office or courier depot
- if you wish to have parcels delivered to an alternative address please update your "mailing address" on myUniSA and contact the FIS to update information
Return
- a return prepaid parcel with a consignment note will be enclosed with your items
- the weight limit of each parcel is clearly marked on the front - delivery is restricted to this weight limit so we ask that you observe it
- sign and date the consignment note and make sure you keep the Sender's Copy as it is your receipt confirming return and the number on it is required to track the parcel if it should go missing
- ring Australian airExpress (13 12 13) for the parcel to be collected or hand it over at the counter at an Australia Post post office - the parcel must be collected or handed in at the post office no later than the due date of the items to avoid demerit points and Library fees
- please do NOT deposit parcels in Australia Post letterboxes
- if your postal agency/PostShop does not accept Australian airExpress deliveries lodge your parcel with your nearest Australia Post post office (opens in new window) or contact Australian air Express to arrange a pick up
- make sure fragile items such as videos are returned with sufficient padding to protect them
- we recommend that you purchase any text or book to which you need continuous access
- we will mail books overseas on the following
conditions:
- you are prepared to organise and pay return postage
- items requested are not on short term loan, in heavy demand, unique or fragile
- the maximum loan period is 8 weeks which includes the time taken to receive and return the item
- we will confirm your address prior to despatching any items to you
- the Library's preferred international courier EMS will not deliver to Post Offices, Post Restante facilities or mail forwarding services
- as an alternative to posting books we can send you copies of contents pages so you can choose a chapter to be photocopied. Due to the Australian Copyright Act 1968 (opens in new window) copying is restricted to one chapter or 10% of a work
