First time users guide
Technical requirements
you will need:
- a computer with an internet connection
- Windows or Macintosh web browser such as Netscape 4.0 or higher or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher
- an email account
How to use the Ask a Librarian form
- open up anAsk a Librarian form
please
complete all mandatory sections. These sections are indicated
by the following red dot
- provide as much information about your query as possible
- once you click on submit you will receive an acknowledgement email
- click on the link provided in the email to check the status of your question
- the first time you receive this email take note of your username and password
- you will be prompted to change your password the first time you Check your Questions and Answers (opens in new window)
How to check your questions and answers
- you will receive your answer via the email address you provided. If you
need further information or clarification do not reply to this email,
instead:
- click on Check your Questions and Answers (opens in new window)
- login using your email address and password (if you forget your password you can have it emailed to yourself)
- click on the Answered Question tab
- click on the question link of the question you would like more information about
- scroll down and locate "please enter reply to your question here"
- type in your question
- click on send response
- use the patron account to:
- keep track of your questions and answers
- change your password and settings
- review your responses
- close your finished questions
Please be aware your questions and answers will only be kept on your account for 90 days. After this time they will be removed from the system
