Library Catalogue
The catalogue (opens in new window) contains information about books, journals and other resources and is essential in any search for information
- Use Quick Search when you know the details of an item - select Title, Author, Journal title, Subject heading, or Call number
- Use the keyword search options when you are searching for a topic
To learn more about the catalogue use the Hints and Help (opens in new window) sections of the catalogue or use the online modules Library catalogue - introduction and Library catalogue - advanced
Databases
Library databases are collections of information about journal articles and may also contain information about conference proceedings and other resources. Some of the articles are available in full text
- Select the required database from the
- Title list or from the
- Subject list
- Each database has online help, hints or guides that are very useful
- Truncation/Wildcards/Phrase searching – basic (PDF 88kb, opens in new window) guide assists with searching techniques for the major UniSA databases
- Databases – access information While most of the databases and electronic journals can be accessed from outside the UniSA computer network, it is essential to read the database access and information details for each specific database to clarify the level of access
Access to databases to which the Library subscribes, is restricted by licence agreements to current staff and enrolled students of the University of South Australia. UniSA staff and students may view, print and/or download contents from these services provided such use is for your University studies, teaching or research and does not amount to or result in commercial distribution
Topic guides
Library topic guides are good starting points for finding resources in specific subject areas. Topic guides have links to electronic and print resources, using the catalogue, searching databases for journals articles, and useful websites.
