Legal Research Workshop

This workshop has been designed to teach you basic legal research skills using online resources only. It is not a comprehensive guide to all legal research tools available and is confined to online (primarily Australian) sources available via the UniSA Library.

The skills you will acquire are transferable to virtually any legal research task. However, not every question you encounter in the future will require you to consult all of the different types of resources discussed, and at times you may find that you consult them in a different order to that described in this workshop.

This workshop will guide you through researching a specific topic, assuming that you know nothing at all about it. At the end of the workshop there is a review of the legal research process that provides you with a series of checklists of the steps involved in researching a legal topic
