The University of South Australia subscribes to JSTOR’s Arts & Sciences Collections I-IV. You have online access to more than 500 journal titles across a wide range of subjects. In spatial terms, this is the equivalent of 1221 linear meters of journals on shelves!
If you haven’t looked at JSTOR lately, it’s worth another visit. JSTOR recently launched a new platform to improve its look and feel, and to make navigation easier. JSTOR now includes a Basic Search box on the home page. You can limit your search by discipline, recall recent searches, search within a result set, and save or export citations. The Results page also displays two additional tabs with any relevant images from JSTOR and from ARTstor.
JSTOR now has a Facebook presence, with its own page (opens in new window) for Facebook users to get up-to-date information and tips, view training videos, and comment on the resources. Anyone who adds the Facebook Search Application (opens in new window) to a personal profile can search JSTOR without leaving the Facebook site.
Access JSTOR to take a fresh look today.

If not, take a look at the Database Trials page. It links to free trials of new electronic resources across all subject areas. At the moment we are testing resources for marketing, bioscience, international security, pharmacology and applied health, as well as e-books in the humanities.
The trials change frequently, so it’s worthwhile to bookmark the page and check it often.
If you would like to recommend a new database or electronic resource to try, please contact your Academic Library Services team or fill out a Request for subscription form.

Taylor & Francis Publishing has recently changed the policy towards archival access to their online journals. Their preferred platform Informaworld now has access only from 1997 onwards.
Many of our catalogue records still reflect earlier, more liberal archival access policies. These records are being corrected.
However, many Taylor & Francis titles also have pre-1997 full text available through other databases such as Ebsco, which often goes back to 1993 or 1994. Please check the date ranges in catalogue records for the Taylor & Francis journals, to see if you can get the full-text you need through another database.

Created in the 1970s, a set of well-loved sculptures by renowned Australian artist John Dowie now take pride of place in the new library extension at Mawson Lakes.
‘The Art of Learning’ sculptures were commissioned to complement the original building at what was then the Levels campus of UniSA’s antecedent institution, the South Australian Institute of Technology. The 2.7 metre cast aluminium alloy mullions depict the art of learning from the rock age aboriginal, through the hieroglyph and ideogram, to the alphabet.
Most of the 72 sculptures were installed in 1972 around the outside of the building. Thirteen remaining sculptures were installed within the foyer and vestibule of the building extensions in 2005 at the official opening attended by John Dowie.
