What are Filters?
Some databases need a two-step process, where you save your references usually as a text file, and import into EndNote by selecting the correct filter. Filters read downloaded files from database searches and import their contents into an EndNote library. Essentially, filters translate the format of references into one that EndNote can recognise.
If the filter you require is not supplied with EndNote, you may find the filter in the list above. You will need to have your EndNote Library closed before downloading the file. To download a filter, click on the filter link and save the file in your Filters folder (in a Windows environment under Program Files>EndNote>Filters and in the computer barns in the My documents folder). You only need to do this once if your are using your own computer, but you will need to download filters you need for each new session in the student computer pools or barns.
More filters are also available from EndNote - Import Filters (opens in new window)
