Database access information
Access conditions
Access to online resources including databases and full-text services subscribed to by the Library is restricted by licence to current staff and students enrolled in programs offered by UniSA. You may view, print and/or download contents from these services provided such use is for your University studies, teaching or research, does not constitute sequential and systematic downloading of an unreasonable volume of licensed content or amount to or result in commercial distribution or plagiarism. Use of these resources is limited by the appropriate licence conditions, copyright legislation and University Policy on use of University Information Technology facilities.
Access inside the University network
Most online resources are accessible by direct login requiring no authentication or password. Restrictions apply to resources:
- that require individual username and password. This information is available from the passwords page. Access to this page is by Authentication. For further information see the Authentication Guide (PDF document)
- available at particular campuses or library workstations

Access outside the University network
Access to most online resources outside the University network is available through one of the following methods:
- Authentication. Students and staff need to enter their UniSA NetWork
ID and password. For further information see the Authentication Guide (PDF 266kb, opens in new window)
- individual username and password. This information is available from the passwords page. Access to this page is by authentication
Remote access restrictions apply to some online resources. Clients are advised to consult the Access Conditions section of the individual database pages available from the database access and information pages
NOTE: online resources requiring authentication cannot be accessed remotely via VPN (Virtual Private Network)
Extension to library services and access to online resources due to program incompletion
Students requiring extensions to library and eResource access due to program incompletion need to submit the Extension to network, email and library services (PDF 36kb, opens in new window) form. The form is to be completed by students and authorised by their program director/academic supervisor and lodged in hard copy at Campus Central
NOTE: restoration of access to the University network and email is determined by ISTS and is dependent upon a student's enrolment being active on Medici. The Library is not able to directly extend access to online resources and library services to students
UniSA Staff access to library services and online resources
University staff requiring access to Library services and online resources must have a current HR Record and University Network ID. If you do not have a Network account, you must complete the Computer Network Access form and submit this to the IT Help Desk, ISTS, Mawson Lakes
NOTE: requests for Network access are processed by ISTS and is dependent upon an active HR record. The Library is not able to directly provide access to library services and online resources to staff
