The ADT Program creates one central searchable database of digital versions of theses produced by postgraduate research students at Australian universities. The database is created from the metadata gathered from all ADT member sites and includes links to the PDF files containing the theses. The ADT Program is part of the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) which is aimed at encouraging students to prepare and produce their own electronic theses or dissertations - ETDs. Universities in Africa, Australia, Europe, and North America are involved in NDLTD or investigating this initiative.
