Online Journal System
The Online Journal System (OJS) is a highly flexible open source editor-operated journal management and publishing system developed by the Canadian Public Knowledge Project. OJS covers every stage of the refereed publishing process, through submission to online publication and indexing.
The Library has been hosting OJS since late 2005 and provides UniSA with a supported platform for the publication of online journals developed within the University. Currently, there are eight hosted UniSA journals (opens in new window) Journal of Educational Enquiry, Asia Pacific Journal of Arts and Cultural Management, ATN Assessment, Journal of International Education in Business, The Journal of Student Wellbeing, The Management Case Study Journal, International Journal for Educational Integrity, and Teaching and Learning in (Higher) Education for Sessional Staff (TALES).
In addition to platform and hosting services the Library provides systems administrative support to ensure that access to online publications is continuous and consistent. Experienced Library staff are available to assist less technically inclined staff and provide ongoing advice as required. There are also useful published guides and online tutorials available from the Public Knowledge Project website (opens in new window)
The Library ensures that journals have an ISSN, are catalogued to the Australian National Bibliographic Database and are listed in DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals).
