Newspapers and news services

Introduction

A large number of newspapers and news services are available electronically. This guide deals mainly with full text electronic sources, and looks primarily at Australian news services. Some services may allow free access to current issues, but charge to search archived material. Also, some electronic versions of newspapers may not contain the whole of the print version

News databases

The Library currently subscribes to several different news databases that provide access to print and television news items.

Newspaper Directories

The directories below will take you to individual newspapers on the web. There are directories that cover South Australian, Australian and International newspapers

Australia

You can find Australian newspapers by their title, or by state or town, and link to their online equivalents. Note that some South Australian newspapers are only available in print form

International

These sites will help you to find newspapers from around the world by title, or by region, country or city, and link to their online equivalents. Note that some online newspapers are written in the local language and may not have an English equivalent
