Managing Copyright In Your Thesis

As the author of your thesis, it is your responsibility to seek clearance or permission if your thesis contains material subject to copyright.
Examples of copyright material you may need to seek permission for include:

  • Figures & tables
  • Images
  • Articles written by the author but where the author has assigned their copyright to a publisher

To help you manage this process, please refer to UniSA's Thesis Toolkit [PDF]. It has useful information pertaining to theses and contains a sample permission letter [DOCx] and copyright material log [DOCx].
