World Mental Health Day 2025

Theme: Access to Services - Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies 

This year, World Mental Health Day invites communities around the globe to reflect on the urgent need for accessible mental health support, especially in times of crisis and emergency. The theme, set by the World Federation for Mental Health, highlights the growing challenges triggered by global catastrophes and the importance of ensuring help reaches those who need it most. The Library recognises that raising awareness and mobilising support for mental wellbeing is a shared responsibility, one that begins with fostering an inclusive, respectful environment for both students and staff.  

Fostering mental wellbeing in the Library through resources and activities 

At the Library, we believe mental wellbeing is foundational to academic success and personal growth. In recognition of World Mental Health Day, we’re spotlighting resources and activities that support our students and staff: 

  • Puzzle & Quiz station: Relax and challenge your mind with Sudoku, crosswords, origami, and fun geography quizzes. Pens and printouts designed to help you unwind are provided at a decorated table. 
  • Bookmark giveaway: Collect beautiful laminated bookmarks featuring inspirational quotes, offering a gentle reminder to pause and breathe; perfect for marking your next read. 
  • Resource display: Explore a curated selection of digital wellbeing resources, accessible online via QR codes, showcasing Library’s commitment to mental health awareness.

For Students: Student Support Services 

As a UniSA student in Australia, you have access to confidential, short-term counselling services. These services provide valuable support for your mental health and wellbeing, helping you manage any challenges that may impact your studies. 

 For Staff: Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 

UniSA provides an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), offering a confidential counselling service for staff and their immediate families. For support, call 1300 277 924.
